This modern handmade baby quilt is inspired by vintage and pulls from both aesthetics. It is made of quality cotton fabric and batting, scraps of vintage sheets, and polyester Minky backing. The front comprises four improvised stripey columns comprised of small prints, larger florals, solids, and a few pieces from actual vintage bed sheets, some even with their original white lace trim! These improv columns are set between cream solid kona cotton. The entire quilt is bound in an adorable blue and white stripe, which is machine stitched for durability. The backing is cream Minky, with textured dots. Very soft and cozy. It is quilted with cream thread in an organic wavy design, adding lots of texture.
This sweet quilt is made to be used, loved, and cherished. This quilt is more than big enough for a crib quilt and a great size for babies and little kids in general. Perfect for little ones to wrap up in for some couch snuggles, and outside of the nursery it's definitely large enough to drape over an armchair or the back of a sofa to add a unique accent to your home. Moms, children and babies love and cherish the quilts they receive as gifts. Giving a handmade quilt to a new mom or cherished child is always an expression of love!
This is a finished quilt, one of a kind, and was handmade in Calgary by me, Philippa G Upon washing and drying, this quilt will shrink a little, and get slightly crinkly in appearance. This can be minimized by laying flat to dry. It will only get softer and cuddlier over time, and with repeated washing.
